2. The Production Process

  β-alanine is mainly used for the synthesis of pantothenic acid and calcium pantothenate, carnosine, pamidronate, balsalazide, etc. When using β-aminopropionitrile to product β-Aminopropionic acid, it is needed to use caustic soda liquid (sodium hydroxide or potassium hydroxide) to hydrolyze β-aminopropionitrile, generating β- sodium aminopropionate, and then using the continuous ion exchange system to remove the sodium ion and acquire the product β-aminopropionic acid.
